Oak Wine Barrels - Free Image For Commercial Use

Oak wine barrels

Oak wine barrels. Vertical photo of barrels of wine in wine cellar in South Moravia in the Czech Republic. Simmlar old aged traditional wooden barrels with wine in a vault you can see also in Italy, Porto, Portugal or France. Oak wood is commonly used in wine production.

The oak affects the taste, color, texture and tunic profile of the wine. Mostly, oak wood is used in the production of barrels – not only for the ripening of wine, but also for whiskey or rum. The oak barrels increase the quality of the wine due to evaporation and low oxygen exposure. Sometimes stainless steel barrels are used to store wines. In such a case, the wine is flavored with oak wood chips.
